User comments:: I think that unpacking a tar-ball and adding a directory to the Matlab-path is easy enough. No toolboxes needed, no further adjustments.

User comments:: It does a lot and is very functional once you get used to it (which, as for every piece of complex software, may take a while).

User comments:: I think the most impressive piece of documentation I know in fMRI is the mailbase, which is interactive, current and diverse. The spm-manuals coming with the release are getting better and better with every release. Additionally, I, starting to write Matlab-scripts myself, have profitted no end from the documentation within the script files, and learned A LOT from just scanning the open architecture of the m-files.

User comments:: It does exactly what it says on the tin - voxel-based analysis - and does this very well. I wouldn't want to miss out on the amazing spatial preprocessing tools either - my preferred ones. Of course it's not primarily designed for VOI type analyses so I continue to do them with other packages (mainly Analyze AVW) - this is why SPM doesn't get a straight 5.

User comments:: The documentation is very good, but the essential thing is the helpline, with the _actual_develpers_ on hand virtually all the time to help out and respond to feedback.
