- Description
- One of the main challenges in the analysis of biological processes is the observation of temporal changes of objects. This is facilitated by object detection and object tracking. The first operation, object detection (segmentation) is very heterogeneous since objects can vary in size and shape. The second operation, object tracking needs to relate objects of consecutive time points and to integrate these into a single moving object. Imaris offers a choice of methods for both detection and tracking and allows analysis, and measurement of various object properties. The Tracking functionality requires Imaris MeasurementPro. Tracking provides the ability to follow the movement of independent objects in a 3D image over time. Objects can either be Surface Objects or Spots. Both types of objects can be created automatically (threshold resp. local maxima) or manually.
